It works 

It’s kinda loud but I think if you put some foam around the mechanism it would be less loud. I’m just too lazy and I have decided I don’t want a clock.

I got them in a frame that I wanted to use for something else and they were glued on to the backing so there’s some hot glue and paper residue on the back that probably could be delicately cut off with an exacto but I lack the patience currently.
