Dear Bunz, if there is anything, no matter how random that you long for, I'm willing to bet you can acquire it in this weird, beautiful community with patience and optimism.

I had put out the feelers last year (?) for the balloon man pictured on the left (see sad story in my Ballon Man post). It's a Royal Dalton collectable that retails for at least $1000. Through the generosity of @flastigousfreemartin (Jeff) who had scoured Kijiji and found Joe who was willing to sell his to me for a humble $55.  The icing on this sweet cake was when I met Joe customarily at a set if turnstiles, he was of course curious why a much younger woman in a Weird Toronto shirt and big bamboo hoops was so excited to take this off his hands. I told him the story of how my grandmother and grandfather collected them, she insisted I take a pair to keep in the family when she had to downsize her life and how they perished in a fire while all of my stuff was in storage.  I told him how the guilt of not telling my grandmother had caught up with me, and Jeff going out of his way to find this for me. Get your tissues ready. Joe then shared how his wife who passed in November had loved collecting these with him and how he now was also preparing to downsize his life and was grateful it was going to a loving home. 

It was such a touching moment and I am just so grateful for all of the hilarious, touching, weird and even questionable moments that have come from trades in this community. Keep an eye out for Joe and his wares as I of course turned him onto Bunz.
