To echo a similar sentiment from a fellow Bun, I hope everyone affected by this senseless and cowardly act is as well as can be.

My condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. Prayers for a speedy recovery to the injured.

Today was a day that seemed to go a bit slower than the others. The air in the city seemed more still than normal. Even the rain seemed unsure if it should come.

What I noticed as I carried on with my day were the simple acts of kindness - the people offering their seats on the subway to the elderly lady; the same lady offering to hold the baby of a mother who was struggling with her bags; the guy who held the shop door open for a kid who was on his way out - things that happen every day but stood out in stark contrast to the suffering and heartbreak in another part of the city.

And in seeing these simple gestures of compassion, my sadness over the tragic events remained but stayed muted as the glowing good deeds gave the day its light.
