Humidifier with timer and humidistat.

PLEASE READ - Well maintained, bought less than a year ago and only used for a few months last winter. There’s a black ring with flaking coating (see pics), and this is the response from Taotronics customer support:

“Please don't worry, the part that is flaking is the transducer, which is the part that vaporizes the water to produce fog. This black flaking won't effect the humidifying function.

The black coating flaking off is a result of poor water quality. Please change to filtered water or distilled water to avoid further problems. Thank you for your kind understanding.

When water is hard, that is, water contains too many minerals, this black coating will flake off. It doesn't mean your water is not drinkable, calcium and magnesium ions are actually good.”
