In your quick email to your city councillor write your concerns about what should be addressed in the tenancy agreement

For example:

-If any lead pipes is servicing water into your living space. This is especially toxic to infants and children and will cause developmental issues. It should be disclosed if the city and private side has lead pipes.

-is there lead paint ?

-how old is the roofing (you do not want a leaking roof)?

-was any mold remediation done?

-is there toxic mold in the home ? •it should be allowed for tenants to
test for mold and use their results in court

A lot of health issues come from toxic environments that we cannot see and it slowly debilitates people. You cannot see, taste or smell lead. Canada has a lead pipe issue and nothing has been done to protect children.
