PSA: Spam, Scams, and Harassment on Bunz

Description

Is it just me or has anyone noticed lately the amount of spam & scams being posted on Bunz? Also has anyone been harassed on Bunz as well?

Obviously the easy solution is to block these users but unfortunately blocking doesn’t prevent their posts from appearing on my feed.

SPAM Promo codes There are many who are guilty of this (the current trend is the Carrot app, Opencare, Tangerine). It’s very annoying and also against Bunz policy (it’s stated clearly).

Cannabis Okay, I have no issues with it (I love cannabis). It’s when I’m seeing the SAME EXACT posts being posted every few hours to everyday (a majority of these posts clearly ask for cash too). This is Bunz, not Weedmaps!

Giveaways Since Bunz nerfed the amount of BTZ you can receive based on views/likes on post, they are less frequent. Nevertheless, when someone does post a giveaway, suddenly others start doing the same thing (domino effect spam).

Trading out BTZ Since the BTZ fiasco a few months back, a lot of people are trying to trade out their BTZ. I can’t understand people who make these posts when they have a very insignificant amount of BTZ to trade out (like 154btz for example). At one point, these types of posts were trending huge.

SCAMS “Unlimited” tap Presto cards These are Presto cards for children (TTC fare for children 12 & under are free. Plus when tapped it’s a completely different colour light then the adult Presto). On top of that, these people who post them on Bunz ask for high value items or cash.

Counterfeit TTC Tokens Bunz seems to be flooded with fake tokens.

Posting BTZ values when not accepting BTZ If your post has a BTZ value, it's generally assumed that you're accepting BTZ for your item (since you can filter out posts that accept BTZ). If not accepting BTZ, please don't post a BTZ value. It's misleading and a waste of peoples time who want to trade BTZ for items. I've seen and dealt with far too many people on Bunz lately who post with BTZ values, only to tell me they aren't accepting BTZ (which usually ends up them asking me for cash). I keep hearing the same story on Bunz: that it's to let people know what value they are looking for. So just put the $ value you're ISO on your post instead. Would save a lot of time when looking at posts. When you mislead people, you are scamming people. Plain and simple.

HARASSMENT Who here has been DM’d by another Bunz user for absolutely no reason but to scold you for the value of your item post(s)? If you don’t agree with the posted value of an item on Bunz, then move along. When you go into a retail store to buy an item and it’s overpriced/expensive, do you start complaining to the staff or do you just just walk out and go to another store? Everyone has their own opinion on their perceived value on their posted items (trust me, I do agree that many posted items are way too overvalued, etc), but DM’ing people to scold them is asinine. Can’t we just all agree to disagree?

In conclusion, Bunz HQ should be more diligent with these types of activities that are happening on Bunz.

I love Bunz and would like to keep it a nice environment for all! ❤️

Just my 2 cents. 🤑 Thanks for your time. ⌚
