Imagine a world where everyone got along because everyone minded their own business and that conflicts were carried out in peaceful manners because people's business didn't mess with other people's business.
Nice idea, right?
I was riding the subway on my way to work one morning around 8:30am when a girl got on at Rosedale station. She stood out for two reasons. The first was that she was a she and not one of the 300 guys that had decided to cram into the subway car. The second reason was that she was listening to Taylor Swift's "we are never ever getting back together". Now this might not be a big deal except for that she was a few feet away and I could hear the song as clearly as if she were screaming it in my ear.
My first thought was that that she is being really inconsiderate by blasting her music so loud. My second thought was that I haven't heard this song in a while. My third thought, while humming along to the tune, was that it would have been cool to have this headphone jack splitter on hand so I could have plugged in with her and we could both enjoy the song together.
And there you have it - I need this thing out of my life so that I don't admit out loud to myself or anyone else that I like catchy pop tunes...not to mention that being in possession of this device (that should be only used between consenting friends, of which I have none) also increases the risk of coming across like a complete weirdo by approaching random strangers with a request to listen to their music.
