Antique Catholic Last Rites Box

Sick call box with all the bells and whistles.

This antique set comes in a dove-tailed wooden box with a crucifix on it. I believe a priest would have used this for administering holy sacraments to the sick, dying, and shut in.

The box is 13 1/4" x 7 1/4" x 3" and has a brass latch and a cross on the top of the lid. The inside is lined in purple fabric. Contents are: 2 silver plated plates engraved with the monogram for Jesus - IHS, a pair of silver plate candle holders attached to the box, two candles, a small glass vial, a glass bottle that says "holy water" on it, a wood & metal crucifix, an envelope with cotton, a silver plated spoon, a silver cup, and an instruction card.

Not sure of the year. Needs some dusting.

Will definitely spook a friend or two out.
