Meal Drop for the Homeless

Description

Hey BUNZ!

I just wanted to start by saying that the BUNZ community has treated me with soooooo much love! All of you who come week after week to pick up home cooked meals has giving me something to look forward to every Saturday, so THANK YOU!

It’s time to give back. This week has been rough with all the horrendously cold weather. As cold as it is for us who have thermostats to go home to... picture how cold and difficult this week has been for the homeless. I know nothing makes me feel better after a cold commute than a home cooked meal waiting for me, so I’m sure it will help make their time just a little less rough.

So here’s what we’re going to do. This Saturday, January the 26th, I am going to do a Meal drop. As you know, every time I do a Meal Drop, I make one extra portion for someone in need. This week I’m going to make an extra meal FOR EVERY PORTION ORDERED. For every portion you order, I’ll be preparing an extra one for someone in need outside.

I’m going to write the name of the person who orders the meal on the takeout container, so that the receiver knows the first name of the person who helped them out. I’ll be spending the better part of Sunday handing these meals out around the downtown core of Toronto.

Now, let’s talk food. The quality of this meal will be just as high as ever! I’ll be making gnocchi with hearty vegetable ragu. My homemade ragu takes hours to simmer. It’s made with lots of savoury fresh herbs, aromatics, and is infused red wine for a smooth depth of flavour!

Typically my meals are between 700-850 BTZ, this time it’s going to be 1200 per portion. This price will cover the cost of preparing and packaging your meal, and the persons meal your donating to, and I will break even. Those of you who have coupons from my previous post, feel free to use it now, or save it for the future.

To my regulars, there is no pressure to participate in this meal drop, I understand it’s pricey.

As always, the food will be available for pickup at my home (Jarvis and Carlton) on Saturday, January 26th between 5-7pm.

Feel free to check out my previous posts, or instagram for visual references of what I do, if your not already familiar.

Thanks so much, can’t wait to hear from you!

✌🏽Home Chef Kyle
