I spent a few weeks cleaning, servicing and timing this machine. After polishing the tension disks I was able to get it sewing beautiful tight stitches.
The stich length is mechanical meaning you can select any length between 0mm and 4mm. The feed dogs have three positions aggressive, medium and down.
I was able to stich through 6 layers of heavy canvas and 2 layers of nylon webbing at once (7mm total of the absolute heaviest fabrics) and the motor barely makes a peep.
It does straight stitch only, weighs more than most children and total clearance from foot to plate is 1 cm with the presser foot up.

This machine seems to be a clone that several companies licensed in the early 50's, meaning several versions of the same machine exist under different brands [[I've included two examples in the add here, the wizard and the Nelco]]. As far as I can tell they were manufactured by nelco, and the model is listed as A-4-2.
Great for cosplayers, Boho style decor and DIY crafters looking for a simple machine that can handle meatier materials.
