Lomonosov white porcelain Polar Bear figurine

This a beautiful vintage porcelain Polar Bear from USSR made by Lomonosov Porcelain of St Petersburg. The pottery has a long history for making quality ceramics dating to the 18th century. Favoured by successive Tsars, the factory, took the name Lomonosov in 1925 in commemoration of the foundation of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mikhail Lomonosov 200 years earlier. This piece was made during the USSR era probably in or around the 1970s. It bears the red ink stamp to the base for that period. 

The figurine stands around 4.5" tall. Excellent vintage condition Marked USSR
